Teodora Ćurčić
Teodora joined the team in 2018 after attending CINS' training for investigative journalists. She was part of the team that created a database of nearly 2,800 proceedings initiated by the Serbian Anti-Corruption Agency against public officials in Serbia. The database was shortlisted for the GEN Data Journalism award in the Open Data category and the first example of open data made available by Serbian journalists in the form of "open source" code. Teodora later led CINS' team in creating the How Much Does an MP Cost and Party Coffers databases. In 2022, she received the Marina Kovačev Award for the best young journalist, while in 2023, she won the EU Investigative Journalism Award as well as the Annual Tolerance Award presented by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality. Through various trainings and conferences, she specialized in working with large datasets and interactive visualizations, and part of her work now involves preparing this type of content for CINS. Teodora collaborates on international stories as part of the European Data Journalism Network (EDJNet), of which CINS is the first member from a non-EU country. She provides training on advanced internet searches, databases, and enriching texts with multimedia content. She has also mentored young journalists and is a co-author of manuals on databases and video tutorials on working with large amounts of data. In 2022, Teodora received the Marina Kovačev Award for the best young journalist, and in 2023, she was among the top 12 young journalists from 59 countries worldwide. That same year, Party Coffers and a series of articles on the financing of political parties were recognized with the EU Award for Investigative Journalism, and Teodora was among the winners of the Annual Tolerance Award presented by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.
