The Instagram account of journalist Ivana Milosavljević, who infiltrated the Serbian Progressive Party’s call center for the purposes of an investigative story ahead of the elections, was under attack throughout the entire day yesterday. As a result, the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia has filed a report with the Special Prosecutor’s Office for High-Tech Crime.

After Transparency Serbia filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Agency on suspicion that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) had violated the Criminal Code and the Law on Financing Political Activities by organizing a call center, the party denied these allegations.

The Serbian Progressive Party did not report to the Anti-Corruption Agency the call center’s costs in its preliminary report on election campaign expenses.

Following CINS’s investigation into SNS’s call center, Transparency Serbia submitted a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Agency due to possible violations of the Law on the Financing of Political Activities and of the Criminal Code.

After CINS revealed how the Serbian Progressive Party’s call center operates, raising suspicions of possible vote buying and misuse of citizens’ personal data, MP candidates from the “Serbia against violence” coalition Jelena Jerinić and Đorđe Pavićević filed criminal complaints against those responsible.

During his guest appearance on TV Pink, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić commented on the work of SNS’s call center, but did not respond to the main findings published by CINS in its article.

Deputy member of the City Electoral Commission Vladica Ilić says that when it comes to CINS’s article about SNS’s call center, the Prosecution and the Tax Inspectorate need to react, and that this is not the job of electoral commissions, which do not have the authority to investigate this case.

Following the publication of the article about the operations of SNS’s call center and the possible misuse of personal data of all citizens, the office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection states that they cannot react. However, former Commissioner Rodoljub Šabić believes the opposite.
