Srem (in the north) had the least.<\/p><p>In most districts, the number of doctors increased following the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation was slightly different in the Bor district (east). Here there were fewer doctors than in previous years, and it was not until 2023 that numbers recovered.<\/p><div class=\"fullwreg\"><div class=\"flourish-embed flourish-map\" data-src=\"visualisation\/22344863\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/visualisation\/22344863\/thumbnail\" width=\"100%\" alt=\"map visualization\" \/><\/noscript><\/div><\/div><p>Another change accompanied the pandemic: salaries in healthcare and social services have increased significantly. Before 2020, the average salary (before tax) was around RSD 56,000 (about \u20ac475). By last year it was RSD 98,000, a rise of 75%. However, due to Serbia\u2019s price inflation, even this wage has not been enough to cover the average basket of consumer goods.<\/p><div class=\"fullwreg\"><div class=\"flourish-embed\" data-src=\"story\/3004356\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/story\/3004356\/thumbnail\" width=\"100%\" alt=\"visualization\" \/><\/noscript><\/div><\/div><p>At the European level, a study by the European Data Journalism Network (EDJNet) shows that the shortage of medical doctors is becoming a problem.
