The Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia received three of the six awards.<\/p><p>Ten stories and one podcast were nominated for the award. The jury\u2019s president, journalist Branko \u010ce\u010den, noted that all nominated stories were of high quality and upheld the highest standards of journalistic professionalism.<\/p><p>CINS&#8217;s story <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/cins-inside-snss-call-center-hostess-agency-vote-buying-and-millions-in-cash\/\">&#8220;CINS Inside SNS\u2019s Call Center: Hostess Agency, Vote Buying, and Millions in Cash,&#8221;<\/a> authored by Ivana Milosavljevi\u0107, Teodora \u0106ur\u010di\u0107, and Vladimir Kosti\u0107, won two awards: the third prize for Best Investigative Story and the Audience Award, given to the story with the highest number of votes.<\/p><p>The first investigative podcast in Serbia, the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/zao-cas-epizoda-1-treci-maj\/\">&#8220;Traces, season &#8216;Time of Darkness&#8217;,&#8221;<\/a> authored by Jovana Tomi\u0107 and Stefan Markovi\u0107, received special recognition.<\/p><p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tragovi - Epizoda 1: Tre\u0107i maj (S01 Zao \u010das)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vUU-iOld-Ns?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><p>The jury, consisting of Branko \u010ce\u010den, Gordana Igri\u0107, Mirjana Jevtovi\u0107, and Sa\u0161a Lekovi\u0107, chose BIRN&#8217;s article &#8220;Fake Payouts, Fictitious Lectures: How Millions of Euros for the Vulnerable Ended Up in Other Peoples&#8217; Pockets&#8221; (Gordana Andri\u0107 and Aleksandar \u0110or\u0111evi\u0107) as the best investigative story, while second prize was awarded to KRIK\u2019s editorial team for the story &#8220;Gendarme Vu\u010dkovi\u0107 Gave Orders to Criminals, Destroyed Sale Mutavi&#8217;s Phones After His Murder&#8221; (Bojana Jovanovi\u0107, Milica Vojinovi\u0107, and Stevan Doj\u010dinovi\u0107).<\/p><p>In addition to the awarded stories, CINS&#8217;s investigation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/femicide-in-serbia-crime-and-lesser-punishments\/\">&#8220;Femicide in Serbia: Crime and Lesser Punishments,&#8221;<\/a> authored by Teodora \u0106ur\u010di\u0107 and Jovana Tomi\u0107, was also nominated for the award.<\/p><p>Another special commendation was given to the story &#8220;Domestic Violence Against Children: Invisible Victims,&#8221; authored by journalists Gordana Andri\u0107 (BIRN), Dragana Prica Kova\u010devi\u0107 (Radio 021), and Teodora \u0106ur\u010di\u0107 from CINS.<\/p><p>The &#8220;Dejan Anastasijevi\u0107&#8221; Investigative Journalism Award has been presented for 19 years with the support of the US Embassy in Belgrade, and the awards ceremony was held at Dor\u0107ol Platz.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At this year&#8217;s &#8220;Dejan Anastasijevi\u0107&#8221; Investigative Journalism Awards ceremony, CINS journalists were presented with three awards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1121,"featured_media":38250,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1586,1497],"tags":[1655],"class_list":["post-38301","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-awards-and-other-recognitions","category-news","tag-awards","ciTrackContent"],"acf":[],"featured_image_url":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/CINS-nagrada-Dejan-Anastasijevic-2024.jpg","author_additional":false,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/38301","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1121"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=38301"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/38301\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":38308,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/38301\/revisions\/38308"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/38250"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=38301"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=38301"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cins.rs\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=38301"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
