\n\tMilica Stojanovi\u0107<\/strong>, journalist from Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia<\/em> (CINS) received today the annual media award for tolerance at the conference on the occasion of the International day of tolerance, 16 November.
\n\t
\n\tThe award was presented by Brankica Jankovi\u0107<\/strong>, Commissioner for protection of equality<\/em> and Andrea Oricio<\/strong>, Head of the OSCE Mission<\/em> in Serbia.
\n\t
\n\tStojanovi\u0107, who was the third in rank in the category print\/on-line media, was awarded for the text: \u201cYou survive prostitution, beating, and starvation, to fight for damages yourself<\/a>\u201d. This investigation indicated that victims of human trafficking must undergo two sets of court proceedings to protect their rights, which may last for years, and which also causes additional traumas, so that victims mostly opt for not requesting damage compensation.
\n\t
\n\tThe research was conducted within the project \u201cSupervision of public policies: prEUgovor covers reforms in Chapter 23 and Chapter 24\u201d supported by EU.
\n\t
\n\tBesides the award in the category print\/on-line media<\/em>, CINS project “Imaju glas<\/em>” (\u201cThey have voice<\/em>\u201d) which treats issues of and discrimination against LGBTI persons was also cited.
\n\t
\n\tThe results of the research \u201cGender equality in decision-making positions in local self-government units\u201d were presented at the conference prior to presentation of awards.
\n\t
\n\tThe research indicated that only 12 women are mayors, while as many as 83.7% directors of public companies are men.
\n\t
\n\tThe award for the report produced within the project \u201cWhen you grow old, nobody knocks on your door<\/em>\u201d was handed to journalists Mirjana Mari\u0107 Veli\u010dkovi\u0107<\/strong>, Tatjana Marin<\/strong>, and Ivana Predi\u0107<\/strong>. Predi\u0107 attended CINS School of investigative journalism, held in 2016 and 2017.

\n\tCINS has received this award for the second time in a row; last year, the award in the category print\/on-line media<\/em> was awarded to Filip Rudi\u0107 <\/strong>for the story about children who travelled the migrant route by themselves, developed within CINS School of Investigative Journalism.
\n\t
